Social Media Advertising

Everyone sees the ad's on the side bar of Facebook and other social media websites, and if you take a good look most of the time they are about topics you may be interested in.  The reason behind this is because everywhere you go and everything you do is tracked by the websites you use.  This information is then sold to advertisers who tailor the messages on these social media websites so that they are more appealing and interesting.  This market segmentation of advertising i think is a very very strong development on the end of the advertisement industry.  But on the same time the internet is a open source not really monitored by anyone.  And i think that this sort of tracking and breach of privacy is a very unethical one.  I think that advertising should not be shoved in your face and invading your life.  Good advertising doesn't have be shoved in your face, it should catch your eye and intrigue you.
